Frequently Asked Questions

  • What happens after I purchase a consultancy session / package?

After purchasing your session or package, you’ll receive an email containing two links: (1) a link to schedule your appointment for the time you have identified, and (2) another link to a short form where you can share information to help us prepare for your session.

  • What topics can the consultancy cover — and what can’t it?

Our consultancy focuses on helping you identify and discuss issues through the lens of male psychology. Male psychology is a broad field that spans many academic, personal and professional issues. We can also signpost relevant research and provide you with evidence-based knowledge, or with theory-based insights where research is limited. While we can support you in exploring psychological challenges that may touch on legal, policy, or business-related matters (for example, when policies appear to overlook male needs), we do not offer formal legal, policy, or business advice, as we are not specialists in those areas.

  • What can I expect during the consultancy session?

Sessions take place via Zoom* and are tailored to the information you share in the preparation form. Don’t worry if you’re not entirely sure what you’re looking for — your consultant will guide the conversation to help clarify your goals and identify the most helpful direction for you.

  • Why don't you offer written text reviews and feedback?

While written feedback can be useful, our consultancy focuses on live video sessions to allow for real-time discussion, clarification, and deeper insight. Male psychology topics often benefit from dialogue, where tone, context, and nuance can be explored more effectively. This approach ensures a more personalised, supportive, and impactful experience for each client.

  • Will the consultancy sessions be recorded?

Due to GDPR limitations (e.g. potential references to third parties), recordings will not be made of consultancy sessions.

  • Should I already be familiar with male psychology prior to purchasing a consultancy package?

You don’t need any knowledge of male psychology, but it might save you time to make yourself aware of the basics. Our consultancy sessions are open to anyone with a genuine interest in learning about male psychology. Our own goals are to meet each client where they are at, to best help you reach your goal. Depending on how familiar you are with male psychology you might want to check out the following resources: Article: What is male psychology? https://www.centreformalepsychology.com/what-is-male-psychology Our magazine with articles on a range of topics within male psychology - https://www.centreformalepsychology.com/male-psychology-the-magazine Our textbook on male psychology - https://www.centreformalepsychology.com/wiley-textbook-new-perspectives-in-male-psychology Our e-learning courses and webinars https://thecentreformalepsychology.thinkific.com/collections

  • What are the technical requirements for consultancy?

You will need to have access to, and be able to use, either a phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer. In general, you should have no problems if you have a modern device. Video Consultancy session will take place over Zoom. Please check that your desktop computer, laptop, tablet, smartphone, or smart device has the necessary technical requirements. You can view the technical requirements for Zoom here http://tinyurl.com/4j4jjmuk

  • I have a question who can I contact? I’m having trouble buying.

Please contact us by emailing us at [email protected] and we will be happy to support you with your query. If you are experiencing an issue with purchasing, please providing as much information as possible on the issue when you contact us.

What is Male Psychology?

Male Psychology can be considered the exploration of the complex, multifaceted experience of males, something often overlooked in the academic literature. Male psychology asks questions such as: what does existing research tell us about masculinity, and how best can we help with the mental health of men?
